Event Description

The Krokodiloes, Harvard University's oldest and finest a cappella singing group, are visiting New Orleans for the first time in their 70-year history, as part of their annual winter tour! They will be performing at Louise S. McGehee School on January 12 at 7 PM. Tickets, available online and at the door, are $15 for adults and $12 for students.

The Kroks are a 12-man group, all undergraduates at Harvard, who bring a delightful blend of tight harmony and clever humor to audiences all over the world. The group sings an assortment of classic American jazz, rock, swing, and funk--topped with a few traditional ballads.

In addition to performing in over 150 domestic concerts during the school year, each winter and summer, the Kroks embark on tours that see the group perform at sold-out concert venues around the globe.

In the 70 years since the group's founding, the Kroks have performed for the likes of President Bill Clinton, President Pranab Mukherjee of India, and Governor-General Peter Cosgrove of Australia, momentous events like the 1997 Hong Kong handover ceremony, and have been hosted by royal families in Thailand, Monaco, and Germany. The Kroks have recently performed for celebrities such as Chris Pratt, Amy Poehler, Neil Patrick Harris, Dame Helen Mirren, Kiefer Sutherland, and Marion Cotillard.

The Kroks have performed in many different contexts: at the world’s finest hotels, such as the Pudong Shangri-la in Shanghai, the Banyan Tree in Bangkok, and the Hotel Seiyo Ginza in Tokyo, in exchange for accommodations; at the world’s finest restaurants, such as the Grotto Bay Resort in Bermuda, in exchange for meals; and at some of the world’s finest venues, including Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House, for various public and private events and performances.
